Rotating bodies

In Volume 2 we add rotation and study rotating bodies.

More mathematical concepts are introduced: transposition and orthogonally, the vector and tensor product and eigenvalues with corresponding eigenvectors. After introducing mass density, centre of gravity, angular velocity, centripetal acceleration and the principle of virtual power the equations of motion, due to Euler, are derived.

We may now study the rotational phenomena occuring in free moving rigid bodies with the aid of the Computer program 'Euler'.
